Free seminar

Postby Steve Sywensky on Wed Jun 30, 2010

To all:
In conjunction with Trout Unlimited and ORVIS, FFP will sponsor a Flyfishing 101 seminar each Saturday morning in July from 10 AM-1PM. This will consist of a casting lesson as well as a knot-tying/rigging lesson, free of charge. Participants will be also get a free one-year trial membership in TU and a $15 ORVIS gift certificate. Quite a deal.

Steve,
That does sound like a great deal. Some of us who might think we are beyond Fly Fishing 101, will we find some new interesting things as well?

Great idea, Steve! thanks for making this possible. I know several people who might be interested in this. A problem I run into when taking friends fly fishing for the first time is that we are actually fishing, so I don't spend the time teaching them knots like I should.

Can the Orvis gift certificate be used at FFP?

I thought as much Steve and I too think it's a great idea. I often see guys (and a few gals) struggling with knots and often casting while I;m out fishing. I feel that I should offer help but only do so when asked which does happen fairly often.
